Pastor Pickle and the Lessons for Living Series began as a creative way for Bill and Lona Love to communicate important Christian principles to their grandchildren by writing and illustrating stories with a message. The concept progressed to a series of books aimed at children and the adults in their lives, providing opportunities for important conversations and teaching moments.
Bill is a retired marketing communications executive and Lona is a retired Registered Nurse. The couple resides in West Des Moines, Iowa, and has four adult children and eight grandchildren.
“We intend for the series to continue,” states Lona, “because there is certainly no shortage of topics to be addressed. Knowing the challenges facing families today, we want to present Christian answers in a simple and direct way.”
The authors would like to thank their family and friends for their input and encouragement on this literary journey, offering a special recognition to their children and grandchildren, Jaime, Amy, Nicole, Andre, Jennifer, Ryan, Andrea, Amanda, Timothy, Anna, Colin, Katelyn, Ella, Reese and Caden. They also appreciate the time put forward by Pastor Jeremy and Brigit Johnson, who, with their children Trey and Jade, accepted the challenge of “first peek critique” of the Pastor Pickle books.
